As a beautiful, rich and vigorous land on the southwest coast of China, not only has Jiaxing attracted visitors by her picturesque scenery, fantastic places of interest, terrific historical and cultural relics, but also she has made millions of people visit more than twice for her profound culture, tasty snacks, various handicrafts and so on. Being the top attractions in Jiaxing, the North-South Lake at Haiyan, the Qiantang River Tidal Bore at Haining, the Jiulongshan (Nine-Dragon Mountains) Beach and the ancient town of Xitang at Jiashan have always made local people proud and impress the visitors. The ancient culture of “Shajiabang”, which has a history of over 7000 years ago, can definitely present the visitors a mysterious and gorgeous civilization of ancient China. Long known as a "land of fish and rice" and the "home of silk", Jiaxing is a national commodity grain base and one of Zhejiang's important production bases for farm and sideline products. The world-famous blue dyed cloth, the Southlake water caltrop, the delicious rice dumpling, and the Fenhu wine have also brought Jiaxing good reputation and great profits. The five counties (namely Jiashan, Pinghu, Haiyan, Haining and Tongxiang) and the two districts (namely Xiucheng and Jiaoqu) are under the jurisdiction of Jiaxing government.
