Sanya is on the southernmost point of China, at the tip of Hainan island. Billed as "China's Hawaii", Sanya has long stretches of beach, water sports such as snorkeling and jet-skiing, rainforest hiking, and innumerable hotels ranging from zero to five stars. However, Sanya is becoming more crowded and more polluted (refuse from tourism, unchecked construction) as each year passes. Islands and beaches that could have been compared to Hawaii a few years ago are still beautiful, but no longer pristine or secluded. Even in January, temperatures hover around 30*C and the ocean is still warm enough to swim in without a wetsuit. Thus, Sanya is a popular escape for Russians fleeing sub-zero winters. Russians primarily stay at Dadong Hai(Great East Sea Sanya is also a very popular vacation spot for Northern Chinese to escape cold, arid weather. Especially around Chinese New Year, the city will overflow with tourists. Chunyuan Seafood Stall: Here is a lively place at night, more than 40 stalls carry on the seafood. Usually people visiting Sanya will come here to eat the native seafood. Here you can choose the material by yourself and only pay for the making process (RMB4/kg). There are two ways to eat the seafood, one is the hotpot (named Dabianlu by the native people), another one is fried dish. However, we think the hotpot will be better because it can embody the origal flavour of seafood.
