Jecheon is a city in North Chungcheong province - Chungcheong province in the centre of South Korea. It was formed in 1896 from the northeastern half of the former Chungcheong province. The provincial capital is Cheongju, South Korea. The city is a major railway junction, served by the Jungang, Chungbuk and Taebaek Lines. Jecheon has scenic surroundings and several tourist spots such as Uirimji Reservoir and Cheongpung Lake. It is also home to Semyung University.
