Hillerod is a city with a population of 29,683 (January 1, 2009) located in North Sealand in Denmark. Hillerod is also also the capital of one of the five regions in Denmark, that is "Region Hovedstaden" (The Capital Region) and the third largest city in this part of Sealand after Copenhagen and Helsingør.
The city of Hillerød has a rich trade and culture life. Hillerod is especially known for Frederiksborg Castle situated in the center of the town. Another cultural institution is “Hillerod Viden- og Kulturpark” (Hillerød Knowledge and Culture Park); a library with surrounding culture workshops and game spots. This is the cultural gathering spot around the culture life of Hillerød with exhibitions, music and theatre.
