Two acts of 1214 and 1239 refer to the grant to the abbey of Boquen, the lord of Chatelier in Ereac, four "mining" of wheat on the rents that food has to Plorec. We will meet the following designations: Ploarec (in 1214, in 1239), Eccl. Plorec (circa 1330), Par. S. Petri Plourec (in 1380). The name of the town becomes Plorec-on-Arguenon by decree of May 10, 1954. Under the Old Regime, Plorec-on-Arguenon is a parish in the diocese of St. Malo and for branch Lescouët (since Lescouët Jugon). The ancient parish of Plorec-on-Arguenon fell within the sub-delegation of Lamballe and spring Jugon. Plorec-on-Arguenon elects its first municipality in early 1790. By order of December 6, 1827, Plorec yields to the nearby town of Bourseul the village of Hotels in exchange for the large oak-Bily Wood and Castle Wood, Adam. In 1827 also, the common Plorec, formerly part of the canton of Plancoet was attached Plélan to Canton-le-Petit. Some localities such as the village of Temple seem to reveal the presence of the Templars and / or Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem
