Llangollen is famous for being the venue of the International Musical Eisteddfod held every July, when folk dancers and singers from all over the world arrive in droves to take part in the performances. One of the best ways to take in the scenery is to ride along the canal on a horse drawn boat from Llangollen Wharf,or take a boat over Thomas Telfords amazing 38m-high Pontcysyllte Aqueduct.You can also take a trip on the Llangollen Steam Railway which chugs eight miles through the Dee Valley to Carrog, passing the weir at Horseshoe Falls.
