Kingscliff is a seaside town just south of Tweed Heads on the far North Coast of New South Wales, Australia in Tweed Shire Council. With a population of just over 4000, Kingscliff is a beach community offering a variety of holiday accommodations. Together with the villages of Chinderah and Fingal, it is a tourist destination that provides beach and estuary access for swimming, surfing, fishing and water sports. Its main street, Marine Parade, is flooded with cafes, shops, accommodation and directly across from Kingscliff beach and creek. An oceanway allows pedestrians and cyclists to move from the historic centre of town out to the emerging new communities along the Tweed Coast in a sustainable manner. It has been announced that Kingscliff will host a round of the World Rally Championship in September, 2009. The a scene from the movie "aqua marine" was filmed on Marine Parade in late 2007. With some good street landscaping and plenty of excellent cafes and restaurants just across the road from the main beach, Kingscliff is also becoming a foodie destination. In the heart of good farming and fishing regions, the fresh produce is not all headed to city markets, and locals and visitors enjoy the emerging regional cuisine. There are also plenty of shaded areas for family picnics.
