We had a lovely stay at the Yamagata Grand in Yamagata when we travelled through the country last year. Situated in the central area this was very convenient. Staff were a little laid back, but friendly enough. Good pick for accommodation in Japan. We really had a lovely stay here....

Relaxing and welcoming, the Castle Yamagata in Yamagata offers good value. Accommodation is in the central area - which makes a good base for exploring.
