After the history of the long control of Thailand on the area, Battambong became to be Cambodia's province since 1907. Then during WW II, it once again used to be under the control of Thailand for many years. Most of people in here speak thai, because it is close to the boarder with Thailand, so speaking thai language is the advantages of dealing business with those thai people. It is the 3th among the most population province.

One of the most famous for its rice and farming production including arrange and grape. Recently, Cambodia's wine was made in here. Battambong stands rich among the provinces of Cambodia. The higher lifestyle, the slowly growth forwards are the significant notices.

Battambong is the best well-planned town in Cambodia. The French colonial buildings are standstill. Sanker river run through the centre of provincial town, give a spectacular view on both sides for watching from the river. The river is the connection between Siem Reap. The trip between Banttambong and Siem Reap is a great one with the experiences of floating village that locate along the way. Those people which interest in old temple construction, visit Barsaet, Banon, wat Ek and sneung temple or enjoy with the historical and natural sites of Pnom Sampeou. By the way you can go for swimming and bathing on the river with the local people at Kamping Puoy and Sek Sork. Visiting the wine production at the grape farm or orange farm are also great ideas.
