Where the border gate to Laos

Stueng treng in Cambodia is a gate way from Laos. In latest few years after new national roads south are finish, it become a major crossroads' province for trade between Cambodia, Laos, Thailand and Vietnam. Currently, it is forgotten province but now it will once again be plugged into the rest of the country. In quiet town, Stueng Treng is the closed border province to Laos (Champassak Province of Laos) with many of untourist places are extremely limited for now, but as tourism takes off elsewhere in Cambodia; it is possible that boat trips up the Mekong's tributaries with be a different way to see some remote areas. The most important of this untourist province are boat trips from border of Dongkalor overland border gate or another gate of Veun Kham via Mekong River down to town of Stueng Treng, you will amaze with beautiful scenery and lost border jungle. The poplar's place of Steung Treng includes several minority groups and the western chunk of massive Virachay National Park, Thala Borivat district which is an important Chenla period trading town on the river route connecting the ancient city of Champasak and the holy site of Wat Phu with the southern reaches of the Chenla Empire.
