Before Boun Ouakphansa (Buddhist Lent Festival) opening the season of Boat Racing Festival, the people who live in along Mekong riverside held Boat racing festival, it is a traditional and customs, Today 13 October 2011. The festival is an exciting, colorful and noisy because other villages have sent the boat to compete to each other. There are 2 types of boat like: Customs Boat and Formula boat and 2 kinds of team like: Men and Women team. Other Villages are showing the rowboat, competing, and also practicing before attending the nation boat racing competition at Tha VatChanh Temple riverside in Vientiane capital they held in the Boun Ocphanhsa (End of Buddhist Lent Festival) in every year. After finished competition in Vientiane capital they will held the festival again for closing the season.
