Ipoh Greentown is a new area in Ipoh City which consists of various entertainment outlets and commercial companies. Located near the Ipoh City Council Building, this area has over the past few years bloomed into a favourite hangout place among locals and visitors. One can easily spot cybercafés and food around this new business centre. There are many banks and offices located in Greentown as well. At night, the centre comes to life with loud music from live bands and DJ spinning in the various pubs and cafes around here. A walk around the area will find a row of stalls located around the City Council Building location where one can savour the local delicacies from Tomyam to Fried Rice to Roti Canai or just chicken rice. Another local attraction in Ipoh is the Lost World of Tambun. Developed and using the Sunway City of Kuala Lumpur, the Lost World is one attraction that sort of catered for the northern dwellers who opt not to travel to Kuala Lumpur for a fun splashing time. Along with other Water parks like the A'Famosa (which is catered for the Southern part of Peninsular Malaysia), this attraction include a hot spring park as well. At the centre of Ipoh, one can find the night market. This is typically a ‘pasar malam' or night market that can be found all over the country, catered or the locals and tourists alike. People normally visit the night markets for bargain purchases and to hunt for cheap stuff. Located along Jalan Dato' Tahwil Azar, the ‘Night Lane' sells all types of crafts and souvenirs for the visiting tourist. From souvenirs to food stuff, snacks and tidbits, one can take a slow walk along this lane to buy various things. Crafts from Ipoh can also be found here, while a lot of imitation ‘imports' from the Northern neighbor Thailand can be found here. Ipoh also has its own high end hotspot. Medan Ipoh is a favourite hang out for the youth. For the yuppies, this Ipoh's own version of Kuala Lumpur's Bangsar houses a lot of pubs, clubs and cafes for the young and trendy. Coffee shops and cybercafés can also be found here. This lane is a great place where shows off. For the on-looker, Medan Ipoh or formerly known as Metro Ipoh Baru is a great place to be seen and to see, to show off and be shown
