Kedah, Malaysia

Kedah is situated on the north western coast of Peninsular Malaysia. The state is often referred to as the "Rice Bowl of Malaysia", because of the numerous rice fields that one can find over here. Though agriculture is a major contributor towards the state's economy, tourism is also fast catching up as a major industry of the state. The Kedah attractions consist of historical sites, gardens, parks, forests, beaches and numerous monuments, which attracts tourists to this state through out the year.


One of the biggest attractions of Kedah is the Langkawi Islands or Pulau Langkawi. The island is known for its beaches and amazing shorelines. Some of the most popular beaches that one can find over here includes Datai Beach, Cenang Beach and others. Langkawi is basically a cluster of 99 islands, which today has become a major tourist destination. Other attractions of this island are the Atma Alam or Batik Art Village and the Craft Cultural Complex.
