Perak is characterized by farmland and rustic plantations. The rustic plantations are set against a background of green jungle and rugged limestone hills. Perak lies between Kedah in the North and Selangor in the South. The Main Range Mountains cut across the State of Perak. Perak is famous for its historical museums and monuments. Some of the most popular historical monuments include Birch Memorial Clock Tower, Perak Tong, State Museum, State Mosque, Geological Museum, At Michael's Institution, The Perak Museum, Royal Museum and Ubudiah Mosque. Each district in Perak has its own distinctions and attractions. They are also known for its beauty and history. Some of the attractions here include Anglo-Malay and Chinese mansions, numerous colonial buildings, a number of temples and hilly areas. Bukit Larut is a popular hill destination. An interesting feature about Sabah could be noticed by the astute visitor. The way of life here is a bit different from the urban areas and the central region. The food in the region is very highly rated and there are numerous visitors from other states to come here and enjoy the great cuisine. There are numerous food centers and restaurants in the state
