Huai Nam Dang National Park

Located on the border between Mae Taeng District of Chiang Mai and Pai District of Mae Hong Son covers 179.5 sq.kms. The scenery is dramatic, especially the sea of morning mist laying in the valley. Huay Nam Dang is a favorite camping spot for those who want a taste of cold mountain weather and dawn mists. Huay Nam Dang is also a favorite trekking destination for many of the longer treks operator by Chiang Mai trekking tour operators. These treks take you through the forest and then to villages on the perimeter of the park. Some of the tribes visited by the treks are Shan, Karen and Akha.
