Khao Lak is your gateway to the North Andaman Coast famous for it mangrove forests, marine reserves with world class snorkeling and diving. Excursions to the Similian Islands, Surin Island are easily arranged here. You can also access a lot of community tourism opportunities available in Phang Nga and Ranong Provinces. For something closer you can find coral reef snorkeling just 45 minutes away. Most of the budget rate accommodation is found in the town center. If you are looking for recommendations from other tourists on the areas attractions visit any of the many bars and restaurants in town. Higher end resorts have set up shop on the outskirts of town near the beach.
