Koh Phra Thong Island is in the Andaman Sea in Phang Nga Province, on Thailand's North Andaman Coast. Very close to the mainland separated by a 7 meters deep channel and covered by extensive mangrove forests. Ko Pra Thong is host to one of the world's leading Eco-lodges Golden Buddha Beach Resort. Ko Phratong Island is home to fine sandy beaches on the Andaman Sea side of the island, totaling 15 kilometers in length. Other than some small hills, the interior of the island is covered by dry savanna that is home to deer, monkeys, wild pigs and numerous bird species including the rare colorful hornbills. Kho Phrathong Island has 4 villages, Baan Thong Dhab, Baan Tha Pae Yoi, Baan Koh Ra and Baan Pok Jok. Most of the villagers are local fishermen, who still follow old traditional living. The 4 villages on Koh Phra Thong, Ban Thong Tab, Ban Tha Pae Yoi, Ban Koh Ra and Ban Pok Jok, still live a traditional life of the fisher folk of the Andaman Sea. Ko Pra Thong Island best reached from the pier is Kuraburi of Phang Nga Province.
