Not generally thought of as a destination for surfing, Thailand, and in Phuket in particular, has its own little surfing subculture. Why it even has its own annual surfing competition. While no one who surf's in Phuket would claim to have world class surfing like Bali, Sumatra or Hawaii, there is some good surfing to be had in Thailand. If you are new to surfing or just want to do something different in Phuket, Thailand is the perfect place for beginners to learn surfing.
