Three Hundred Mountain Peaks
Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park offers looming limestone cliffs, wild-life watching, kayaking, trekking and hiking amidst a dramatic landscape of caves, beaches, lagoons and marshes. The name of the park means Three Hundred Peaks in English. So, you can imagine what this landscape in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province must look like. This is the place where, in 1868, King Rama IV brought his entourage to watch the solar eclipse that he predicted and where sadly he contracted malaria, which led to his demise. The park is well known for bird-watching as it is at the intersection of two different flyways. With a little trekking you will be blessed with grand views of the Gulf of Thailand coastline.
