Ha Noi is capital of Vietnam. People call Hanoi like culture city cause it's to be nearly 1.000 years. Many eminent personalities was born here. They grew up with melodies of folk songs. Beside that Hanoi like a green city contains many beautiful lakes, which are lungs of the city, with surrounding gardens and trees providing a vital source of energy .That why Hanoi always is destination of traveler. They feel enjoy an incomparable combination of tradition, elegance and progress. Old quarter is north of Hoan Kiem Lake. In the past, each street used to be dedicated to one commercial activity. That is why a lot of street name begin with “Hang”, meaning merchandise. Hang Dao, Hang Duong ( On this street are opening night market recently) , Hang Kopi ,Hang Giay ( shoes street )…Hang Ma ( Paper street ) near by Dong Xuan market ,where traditional votive products made of colored paper are sold for 1st and 15th every month. Another very typical street is Hang Thiec (tin street) where the deafening sound of hammers striking tin plate cam be heard all day long. In 15th century Hang Ngang were gates at the two end of the street, hence the name Ngang, meaning horizontal barrier. Dong Xuan market is the biggest market was founded in 1889 in the Dong Xuan quarter. Rebuilt in 1990 but still kept its original façade architecture. Located near the railway station, at the beginning of Long Bien bridge ,by the Red River, Dong Xuan marker is convenient place for goods from every where to converge. It opens from 6AM to 6PM everyday. The President Hochiminh's Mausoleum at Ba Dinh Square where is a huge plaza composed of 240 squares of grass covering an area of 32,000 m2.After 2 years of construction , President Hochiminh's Mausoleum was finished on 29 August 1875.The mausoleum is divided into three floors, the first floor of a terraced stand exclusively used for grand meeting organized at Ba Dinh square. The second floor is the center of the mausoleum, where the remain of the president are kept in chamber, accessible through a series of passages and flight of marble stairs. The upper floor is the roof. The mausoleum is open to the public on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. It opens from 7h30 AM to 10h30 AM. In winter: from 8hAM to 11 AM. Extra 30 minutes on Sunday and holiday. The mausoleum usually closes from September 5 to December 10 for maintenance. Not allow photography inside the mausoleum. One Pillar Pagoda was built in 1049, during the reign of Emperor Ly Thai Tong, who had no children, he often went to pagodas to pray to Buddha for a son. One night, he dreamed that he was granted a private audience with Buddha. Buddha, who was seated on a lotus flower in a square-shaped lotus pond on the western side of Thang Long Citadel, gave the king a baby boy. Months later, the queen gave birth to a baby boy. The King decided building a pagoda supported by only one pillar to resemble the lotus seat of his dream in the honor of Buddha, And Dien Huu Pagoda was original name of One Pillar Pagoda, It means “Long lasting happiness and good luck”. The Ho Chi Minh museum near by Ho Chi Minh mausoleum .After 20 years prepared from 25 November 1970, it was completed on 19 May 1990 to welcome 100 year of President Hochiminh's birthday. This museum contains 12.000 documentaries, object of displays, original films of President Ho Chi Minh. It opens daily from 8hAM to 11h AM and 1h30PM to 4h30 PM. Not allow photography. The Vietnam history Museum is the Viet Nam history museum was founded 3 September 1958 on base Louis Finot museum, it was built by French in 1926.and completed in 1932.Located behind the Ha Noi Opera House at No 1 Trang Tien street .It large 2,000 m2 division 4 parts: Prehistoric Vietnam, Viet Nam in the time of National Building and the Tran Dynasty, Viet Nam from the Ho Dynasty to the August Revolution in 1945, and contain a section Cham culture. This museum attracts almost visitors who want to research and understand about history of Viet Nam. Viet Nam Museum of Ethnology is a large open area on Nguyen Van Huyen Street, Cau Giay District, about 8 km from the city centre. The Viet Nam Museum of Ethnology opened at the end of 1997. It is a valuable centre for the exhibition and the preservation of cultural heritages of the 54 ethnic groups in Vietnam .The Ethnological Museum has successfully recreate the daily life together with the religious rituals and symbolic festivals of each ethnic group in Viet Nam. Visitors have opportunity to admire costumes, embroidery as well as outside stilt houses and habitats from the different groups. Hoa Lo Prison Museum is located on the street of the same name. The French colonialists used Hoa Lo to imprison many patriots and communist prisoners. After peace was established 1954, this site was used by the Vietnamese government as a jail for criminal prisoners. It was also a place to keep American Pilots during the anti US war in the North. Temple of Literature and Vietnam first's university – Van Mieu Quoc Tu Giam. The temple of literature was built 1070 and Quoc Tu Giam (Vietnam first's university) was built in 1076.It was the first educational school for royal family member, and it was later opened to talented students. In 1483 Quoc Tu Giam was changed in to Thai Hoc Vien (Higher Education Institute).This site preserves historical vestiges of a 1,000 year old civilization such as statues of Confucius and his disciples and ancient constructions such as Khue Van Pavilion and Worshipping Hall.Van Mieu-Quoc Tu Giam is located on Van Mieu street, 2 km west of Hoan Kiem Lake. Ngoc Son temple was built on Ngoc Island during 19th century. Floating on Hoan Kiem Lake which considers the most beautiful lake in this city, especially that The Huc Bridge (Red bridge) to connect Ngoc Son Temple with Pen-shaped tower (But Thap) which entrance of the Temples. On the upper part of the tower are three Chinese characters, Ta Thanh Thien, which mean “to write on the blue sky is to imply the height of a genuine a righteous person's strength and will.
